  • 1 What is the chargable weight?

    What is the chargeable weight?

Chargeable weight is a weight is a crucial factor in determining freight rates. It considers not only the actual weight of a shipment but also the necessary cargo space based on its dimensions. The chargeable weight is the greater of either the gross weight (actual weight) or the volume weight (dimensional weight) of the shipment.

How to calculate chargeable weight for my shipment?

For air transportation, one cbm equal 166.7KGS

For courier shipment, one cbm equal 200kgs

For example, if you have one shipment, which is 1pallet, the dimension is 1M*1M*1M, the gross weight is 100kgs, the volume is 1CBM, so the chargeable weight for air transportation is 1cbm*166.7=166.7kgs, due to the gross weight is only 100kgs, so we need take the greater one, the chargeable weight will be 166.7kgs, so we have to pay airline for 166.7kgs. If this shipment is delivered by courier, then we have to pay 200kgs.
